The AGM of Tydavnet Tidy Towns was held on Tuesday, 28th February, in Jack’s Bar. The Chairman, Seamus, welcomed everybody to the meeting and thanked them for their attendance. In his address he thanked committee members and the many volunteers who had contributed so much to the work of Tidy Towns over the past year. He also thanked Jack McCarvill for the use of his premises for meetings and for providing the electricity for the Christmas tree free of charge; CES worker Pascal and Rehab worker Damian for their much appreciated work around the village. The Secretary, Catherine, gave a detailed report on the work done over the last year, and paid a moving tribute to the late Jim Balfe, former secretary and committee member. The Treasurer, Ben, presented the financial report for the year. All outgoing officers were returned to their current positions for the coming year. A discussion followed on the work to be done in the coming months, and it is hoped that new volunteers will come forward and lend a hand.
