The AGM of Tydavnet Tidy Towns Off Street parking project took place last Monday night, and the attendance reflected on how the new amenity has transformed the area, particularly enhancing the safety for the school community, for parish liturgies, particularly funerals when the village is less congested to through traffic, for people visiting the cemetery and working on the allotments, and for upcoming charity events and festivals.  The car park allows for a total 80 car parking spaces with 3 disabled car parking spaces and a bus park. However, despite very generous support from the community, local businesses and LEADER, there is still a considerable amount of debt outstanding on a Credit Union loan of €17,806.61, and to a parishioner who gave an interest-free loan . More fundraising will have to take place to clear these, and the committee is once again appealing for your understanding and generosity. Donations can still be given to committee members (a receipt will be issued), or directly to the bank – we all know the good of the carpark, it would be even better when we get the loans paid off and we can move on to new projects. Your support is much appreciated. Registered Charity Number 20163563.
