There has been a positive uptake in the tax reliefs available to individuals and businesses who donate to the Tydavnet Tidy Towns off road car park project  – a registered charity(number 20163563). The Charitable Donation Scheme allows tax relief on qualifying donations of over €250 (from an individual) made to eligible charities, so the charity can claim a refund of tax paid on that donation by the donor. In financial terms this allows the Car Park fund to claim up to an extra €112 without any extra cost to you. All that people have to do is request the relevant form from the Tidy Towns group. Payments by standing order or direct debit will also qualify, as long as certain conditions are met. More information may be got on:

and the form: https://www.revenue.ie/en/companies-and-charities/documents/charities/chy-authorisation-form.pdf

There are also tax incentives for businesses donating to the fund – and a number of local businesses have availed of the benefits to donated even more to the car park project. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far – the car park will be a great amenity for the village, and having it grant funded is a “no-brainer”. Your generosity is appreciated.
