Family history request for Boylan/McCabe family tree……A person has been in contact seeking information on the Boylan family from the Tydavnet area. Her great grandmother was MaryAnn/Elizabeth (nee Boylan), possibly from Knocknagrave/Tonysillago. She had a sister called Sarah. She married a widower called John McCabe from Mullinahinch, Roslea about 1913 in Corracrin (the marriage certificate recorded her name as Elizabeth, and the townland was listed as Knocknagrave). 2 years earlier in 1911, the census recorded a Boyland family in Tonysillogagh, with parents John (72), wife Mary (73), and daughters Kate (30) and Mary Ann (32) living there. The document noted that the couple were married 50 years, and there were 6 children, all still alive. 10 years earlier in the 1901 census for Tonysillago, John Boylan (62) lived with his wife Mary (57), and daughter Catherine (26), a seamstress. Mary Ann/Elizabeth moved to Roslea after her marriage and had one son John McCabe (born 29th December 1916), and eight step children.
