The new ‘normal’ was again the order of the day last Thursday when local bride Sarah Fisher from Drumcoo Woods, daughter of Michael and Evelyn, married Alan Mullan from Cookstown. The wedding had been postponed from an earlier date in May during lockdown. Unfortunately the sun did not appear but that did not spoil the happy occasion. The congregation limited to fifty, wearing face masks and physically distanced gathered at St Dympna’s Chapel for the ceremony celebrated by Fr Stephen Joyce PP. Attending the bride were matron of honour Clare Loan (sister) while assisting the groom were Richard McCarron and Gareth Patrick. Music for the service was provided by harpist Muireann Harraghy from Monaghan and included a Michael Rooney composition, Glór na nAingeal. A reception for the happy couple was held later in the beautiful surroundings of Corick House Hotel in Clogher. The honeymoon is being spent in Ireland and both will be returning to work soon in Belfast. We wish them both every happiness and a long and healthy life together.
