The Irish Cancer Society had to make the difficult decision to cancel all Daffodil Day events for 2020 amid the Coronavirus outbreak. Daffodil Day usually raises millions of euro for the Irish Cancer Society which supports cancer patients and their loved ones by providing free advice and support, as well as by funding life-saving cancer research and treatment. Their annual Daffodil Day fundraiser was set to go ahead on Friday, March 27. County Monaghan coordinator Lorraine Treanor from Ballinode appeals to everyone to contribute to the society, even though there will be no volunteers on the ground. Supporters can still contribute to the Irish Cancer Society for Daffodil Day by making donations on the Irish Cancer society’s website or texting CANCER to 50300, which will donate €4.
Supporters may also purchase Irish Cancer Society merchandise – set of 3 tea towels (€9), reusable cup (€10); foldaway shopping bag (€5); Daffodil day pen (€4); silk daffodil badge (€3); daffodil day pin (€3), and a set of 10 daffodil greeting cards (€5) or a cute wee Teddy Bear (€7). All these items are available now from Lorraine Treanor 087 7984230, or Madge Murphy, your support is very much needed and appreciated, thank you.
