Ann Holland, the gamekeeper of Sliabh Beagh” is the topic of the next presentation of Tydavnet Historical Society. The event will take place in Ballinode Church Hall on Wednesday 19th February 2020 at 8pm, and will focus on this famous gunslinger for Lord Rossmore who lived on the mountain. It’s a hugely interesting story, with all the elements of a great film – Ann has been mentioned in “Things I can tell”, Lord Rossmore’s book of 1912, and in Rose Shaw’s book “Carleton’s Country” in 1930, as well as having a mountain lake named after her. Don’t miss this very interesting tale from our local heritage, admission €5, refreshments served, everyone welcome.
