Well done to the competitors who represented Tydavnet area in the All Ireland finals in Limerick last weekend. Unfortunately there were no medals, but there were wonderful performances that everyone should be so proud of! The Committee would like to thank the families and competitors who travelled to Limerick on 17th and 18th August. Despite the weather conditions, spirits were high and ever lasting memories created. The competitors included: Lara Corrigan Girls U10 Hurdles; Trea MacCinna Girls U12 100m; Michaela Grew Girls U12 600m, and the U12 Girls Relay: Mia Mallon, Ava McGinnity, Trea MacCinna, Michaela Grew and Annie McGinnity did Tydavnet Area and Monaghan County proud in their events. Our youngest and 1st time competitors at Nationals: Cayla McGinnity Girls U8 80m and Joe Mallon Boys U8 80m qualified in their heats on Saturday to compete again on Sunday in Group A Finals which was a huge achievement. National Participation Gold Medals were awarded to both Cayla and Joe and ALL U8 competitors in recognition of qualifying and competing at Nationals at this introductory age group for Community Games; Congratulations! Everyone is invited to the End of Year Competitors Presentation and Party for EVERY competitor who participated at Area, County, Provincial & National Level for Tydavnet Area in 2019 on Sunday 1st September 5.30pm – 7.30pm (please note this date) in Scotstown Complex. Volunteers to help set up would greatly be appreciated.
