Walk: The walk on Wednesday, May 15th is to Derrynasell West. Meet at Maggie Charlie’s, Ballinode at 10.00.a.m. or Knockatallon School at 10.30 a.m. The walk on Wednesday, May 22nd is to Ballybay Lough Major. Meet at McNally’s Service Station on the Cootehill Road at 10.00 a.m.

Bowling: Outdoor Bowling will continue  on Thursday, May 16th   weather permitting, in Monaghan Utd, Soccer Club at Gortakeegan, from 10.00 a.m. until 12.00 noon.

Trip to Mount Stewart House & Gardens: Due to popular demand, two trips have been organised to Mount Stewart House and Gardens. The first trip will take place on Wednesday May 22nd, and the second one on Saturday, May 25th. The bus will leave from McNally’s Car Park, opposite the Shopping Centre at 8.00 a.m. Cost €60 approx. which will cover  Travel, Tea/Coffee/Scones, Tour of House & Gardens, Ferry and Evening Meal in The Canal Court Hotel in Newry.

Trip to Seamus Heaney HomePlace: A trip has been organised to Seamus Heaney Homeplace in Bellaghy on Wednesday, June 26th leaving McNally’s car park at 8.30 and returning at 7.00 p.m. approximately. The trip is limited to 30 people, so it will be on a first come first served basis. The total cost is 50 Sterling, which includes Morning Coffee/Tea in Magherafelt, the services of Eugene Kielt, a Blue Badge Guide who specialises in Seamus Heaney  and will accompany us on the bus as we drive through Heaney Country,  admission to Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy and a 3 Course Meal in Salley’s in Aughnacloy. Upcoming Trips: A three day break has been organised in Ferrycarrig, County Wexford on September 23rd, 24th and 25th.  We are just giving you advance notice, but please be aware that this trip is NOT yet open for booking. We will notify you when it is.

Poems and Pints: The next Poems and Pints will take place in Maggie Charlies in Ballinode on Thursday, May 16th at 8.00 p.m.

Workshop for Local Singers: There will be a workshop for local singers including singers from St. Patrick’s Accommodation Centre on May 21st at 6.30 p.m. in the YWCA Hall on the North Road, Monaghan. The workshop will involve vocal warm ups, rounds and musical games. The aim of the evening is to have as much fun as possible, meet new people and create a musical community among all present. Members are invited to bring along their children or grandchildren, as this is an event for all ages.

Coffee and Craic: Every Wednesday in Smithborough Hall around 3.00. Drop in for an informal Coffee/ Tea and a chat. All welcome.

Pilates:  Pilates class takes place on Tuesdays at 3.30 and is taught by Jeanette Keenan. This takes place in Gortakeegan.   Bring your own mat and towel.  We also have a Flexibility class on Thursdays in the Gym Club, Milltown, at 9.30am. This class is especially helpful for bone strength.

Monthly Talk: No May monthly talk due to the Bank Holiday.

Coffee Morning, every Thursday, around 11.00 a.m. in Graham’s Coffee Shop.
