Walk: The walk on Wednesday, April 24th is to Castle Saunderson. Meet at Smithborough GAA Car Park at 10.00 a.m. The walk on Wednesday, May 1st is to Dartry. Meet at McNally’s Petrol Station on the Cootehill Road at 10.00 a.m.
Poems and Pints: This event, which takes place every third Thursday, is proving very popular with many U3A Members. The next night for Poems and Pints is April 25th in Maggie’s Bar in Ballinode at 8.00 p.m.
Confidence, Inside and Out: Maria Macklin will be our guest speaker in Gortakeegan on Friday, April 26th at 11.00. The title of her talk, is “Confidence, Inside and Out”. Tea/Coffee will be served. An occasion not to be missed.
Trip to The Cotswolds: Those travelling on Week 1 to The Cotswolds should meet in McNallys Car Park, across from Monaghan Shopping Centre at 5.30 a.m. on Sunday, April 28th. The coach will be Lakeland Tours. Note change of time from 5.00 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. Safe trip to all who are travelling and enjoy.
Bowling: Outdoor Bowling will begin in Gortakeegan on Thursday, May 2nd, weather permitting, in Monaghan Utd, Soccer Club at Gortakeegan, from 10.00 a.m. until 12.00 noon.

Workshop for Local Singers: There will be a workshop for local singers including singers from St. Patrick’s Accomodation Centre on May 21st at 6.30 p.m. in the YWCA Hall on the North Road, Monaghan. The workshop will involve vocal warm ups, rounds and musical games. The aim of the evening is to have as much fun as possible, meet new people and create a musical community among all present. Members are invited to bring along their children or grandchildren, as this is an event for all ages.
Coffee and Craic: Every Wednesday in Smithborough Hall around 3.00. Drop in for an informal Coffee/ Tea and a chat. All welcome.
Pilates: Pilates class takes place on Tuesdays at 3.30 and is taught by Jeanette Keenan. This takes place in Gortakeegan. Bring your own mat and towel. We also have a Flexibility class on Thursdays in the Gym Club, Milltown, at 9.30am. This class is especially helpful for bone strength.
