Walks: The walk on Wednesday 9th January will be in Rossmore Park, meet in the Car Park at 10.30am. The walk on Wednesday, January 16th is at Lough Major, Ballybay. Meet at McNally’s service station at 10.00am.

Book Club: The next meeting is in the Four Seasons hotel on Thursday 24th January at 2.30pm. The book for this month is ‘The Day I Lost You’ by Fionnuala Kearney  Books are available in the library for anyone interested in joining the U3A Book club.

Monthly Talk: Friday, January 25th, Sergeant Mick Duffy will give his postponed talk on Security in the home and online. 11.00 is the time and the Soccer club, Gortakeegan is the venue. Tea and coffee supplied.

Poems and Pints: Another enjoyable night was had in Maggie Charlie’s, so we have arranged to have another one on Thursday January 17th. Maggie Charlie’s is the venue, time is 8.00pm.

Renewal of Membership: Now is the time to renew your Annual Membership. You can leave your fee, €15 for an individual or €20 for a couple, into the Age Action shop, Glaslough street or you can renew it at the AGM on Friday February 8th. Please place it in the U3A box and remember to leave your name, number and email.

AGM: Our AGM will take place on Friday 8th February 2019 in the soccer club Gortakeegan

Yoga: Classes resume January 30th in the Crocus centre and continue for six weeks. Class is now full, anyone wishing to join will be put on a waiting list. Contact 0873432275.

Art: Art classes will start again later in the year.

Social Dancing: We hope to get the Social dancing up and running shortly, probably on Monday mornings at 11. Keep an eye on the weekly news updates for further details.

Choir: The next event for the Choir will be the Song Fest in April. Choir runs from 11.00 to12.30 on a Tuesday morning in Gortakeegan, all welcome whether you have a great voice or just enjoy humming along.

U3A Travel Vouchers: With the new year, trips are being organised. The trip to the Dail is full, but we are organising trips to the Cotswolds for the end of April and beginning of May. Coffee and Craic: Every Wednesday in Smithboro Hall around 3.00. Drop in for an informal coffee or tea and a chat. All welcome.

Pilates: Pilates class takes place on Tuesdays at 3.30 and taught by Jeanette Keenan. This takes place in Gortakeegan.   Bring your own mat or towel. We also have a Flexibility class on Thursdays in the Gym club, Milltown, at 9.30am
