Best wishes to Tydavnet sisters AnnMarie and Caitriona Balfe who are taking on the London Marathon 2018 on Sunday 22nd April to raise much needed funds for World Child Cancer. Caitriona has worked with World Child Cancer for a number of years and has seen first hand how all money gets put to great use. World Child Cancer help some of the poorest, most vulnerable children worldwide to access cancer diagnosis, treatment and support. Childhood cancer survival rates are as high as 80% in developed countries but as low as 10% in the developing world. World Child Cancer want to even these odds by forming twinning partnerships between hospitals in developing countries and those in the developed world, funding awareness raising programmes and covering essential treatment costs, giving more children a faster route to better treatment.
