The new date for Tydavnet Tidy Towns group to find out about Leader funding for the proposed car park in the village is 14th March. Firstly, this week we would like to thank Tydavnet Dramatic Troupe who gave the proceeds of Sunday nights performance of “Moll” to the off street car park project. We would like to thank them most sincerely and wish them well in their performances in the Garage Theatre on Friday 2nd March 2018 and Saturday night 3rd March 2018, and recommend it as an event not to be missed.
On a less positive note, it’s sad to report acts of vandalism in the wildlife garden recently when the bridge and surround of the flowerbed was damaged, glasses were broken and strewn around the area, and one of the picnic seats was thrown up on the hedge. The Tidy Towns group endeavours to keep the garden open at all times as a place of enjoyment for the whole community, and it is also regularly used by the Montessori playschool, St Dympna’s school, and for wedding photos, but if this behaviour continues we will have no option but to put on a gate and lock it at weekends. If anyone knows who is responsible for the damage, please talk in confidence to the Tidy towns committee.
