Fancy giving your Brain a work out and representing the club at the same time? Help us resolve the debate, once and for all, as to who’s the smartest GAA Club in Co Monaghan. The Scor na n-Óg (Under 17) and Senior Scor table quiz Monaghan County finals will take place on Friday 26th January 2018 starting at 9pm in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan. The basic format of the event is:

  • 10 rounds of 8 questions, each round to have 1 question “as Gaeilge”
  • The categories will be as follows:
  1. Gaelic and Ladies’ football
  2. Hurling and camogie
  3. General GAA round
  4. Irish History
  5. World History & World Geography
  6. Irish Geography
  7. Irish Current Affairs
  8. World Current Affairs
  9. Irish Culture
  10. General Knowledge

Current Affairs questions relate to the past 12 months, GAA questions relate to the past 20 years, which gives a great spread to the competition. The teams in each grade will consist of 4 people from the same club. Overall winners (senior and scor na n-óg) receive county Scór winner medals and go forward to the All Ireland finals in Sligo in April. Anyone interested in forming teams to represent Scotstown GAA and Scotstown Ladies GFC should make contact with Pauline Rooney as soon as possible on 087 9655031. There is no entry fee required, go on give it a go!
