Our meeting opened with ICA prayer and apologies. We had a low attendance due to flu and weather conditions.

Sympathy was extended to Sarah McDermott and Maura Mohan on the death of Tony Brennan. A minutes silence was observed.

Secretary Patricia was absent on the night so Sarah took her place.

Correspondences: Invitation to Operation Transformation Walk Saturday 13th January meeting point Monaghan Harps GAA complex @ 10.30am.

It was decided that Sarah would send out a text to all members re the numbers to visit John Treanor’s Cottage on Wednesday 24th January and it was decided to delay the visit until better weather.

Line Dancing classes recommencing Tuesday 6th February @ 7.30pm in Tydavnet Community Centre part funded by Monaghan Sports Partnership. The Pilates class is starting Thursday 25th January @ 7.30pm part funded by Go for Life grant. This class is for members only as non members would not be insured.

There was good interest in the ETB sponsored Courses One Pot Meals and the Make-Up classes. Patricia will let us know when they are starting.

Many thanks to Deirdre McCormack who put together an interesting Quiz, you really had to put on your thinking cap. It was good fun. The winners were Maura Mohan, Sheila Murray and Evelyn Fisher.

The meeting concluded with a lovely supper thanks to Doreen McClean and Sarah McDermott. Next meeting on Thursday 8th February followed by a talk on old postcards of Monaghan by Martin McKenna.
