As always, the first Sunday in December heralds the start of Christmas in the community with Tydavnet School Parent’s Association annual tea morning and raffle. There were 17 fantastic seasonal hampers on offer as well as tea and sweet treats, music and song. First up was the school’s choir under the direction of teachers Miss Emma Traynor and Mrs Claire Slowey and music accompaniment by Miss Shannon NíThíarnaigh. The seasonal carols were well rehearsed, and all the children put on a fantastic performance. Then it was on to the Senior Musical group who again set the scene for a jolly Christmas with a lively selection of tunes. Well done to everyone who participated, the music and song was great, the tea and treats were much appreciated, and it was a great chance to take time out of our busy lives and catch up with friends.
