Scotstown, Ballinode and Tydavnet Tidy Towns groups invite your support to keep the area litter free over the coming weeks. Scotstown GFC is hosting Féile competitions, and a large group of under 14 boys from the Cuala team in Dalkey, Dublin, will be staying with local families all over the parish. Meanwhile, the Scotstown Ladies GFC will be hosting New York Ladies Under 14 team, and again these players will be dispersed to host families all over the area. The entire Féile 2017 competition (with 160 teams) is being hosted by Cavan, Fermanagh and Monaghan GAA clubs. The John West Féile na nGael and Féile Peile na nÓg tournaments are club festivals for Hurling, Football, Camogie and Handball at Under 14 level. Teams from every county in Ireland as well as overseas will be among almost 8,000 players who participate, and over 100,000 visitors are expected to Monaghan, Cavan and Fermanagh for the festival. A large cohort of coaches, mentors, supporters and parents will also be arriving locally, and travelling round the area, so we ask that our villages, roads, and roadsigns are shown in the best way possible. We extend a very warm welcome to them all, and we assure them of our best hospitality, we hope they all have a lovely time among us. The judges for the National Tidy Towns competition are also out and about, so we hope they see us at our best.
