Thanks to the pupils of St Dympna’s N.S. Tydavnet who came out to set a great example in picking litter in Tydavnet village for the annual “Spring Clean”. There wasn’t a corner missed, and the place is spick and span. We hope that everyone will follow their lead and head out over the next few days to pick up the rubbish along their home or farm boundary. Waste can be placed in the skip which will arrive on Saturday. With the summer approaching, and lots of visitors coming to the area for weddings, holidays, and from Geel, we want to show our community at its best. Thanks to everyone who has already participated, there’s evidence of great participation along many roads in the area.  We appreciate your community spirit, and we appeal to everyone to call a stop to littering – by not littering themselves, and by being vigilant to  dumping of any sort in the area, day or night. Litter, of any type, is not acceptable, anywhere!

Members of the public are encouraged to report all incidents of illegal dumping or litter they come across (anywhere in the county) to Monaghan County Council’s Environment section, confidential Freephone 1800 2000 14 or email with exact details of location of litter or illegal dumping.
