My First Holy Communion was on Saturday, the 17th of May. It was a sunny day. I read the First Reading and some other prayers. We sang songs as well. It was a good mass. We went to the Community Centre afterwards. We had dinner at home. It was nice. We had a bouncy castle. I had lots of fun and a great day.

During the week before Holy Communion 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes practiced the hymns. The entrance hymn was ‘Do this in memory of Jesus’. The responsorial psalm was ‘Lord we are not worthy’. At the offertory procession we played a slow air called ‘The Island of the Woods’. The communion hymns were; ‘A Mhuire Mháthair’ and ‘I am the bread of life’. The hymn after communion was ‘Here I am to worship’. Some of the 6th class girls did harmonies. ‘Go now in peace’ was the recessional hymn.
