Blackwater Learning CentreWEEKLY SOCIAL DINNER DANCE: The next dinner dance takes place on Monday 12th May from 1pm to 4pm.  For your main course choose from Brown Beef Stew or Roast Pork (veg & potatoes incl with both choices). Followed by dessert of Apple Tart with Cream or Custard & Stewed Apples.  All food freshly prepared that day. Live music with Martin McGilly starts at 2pm and then live music by Kathleen and Gabriel Treanor. Take away meal also available on request.

In Association With Monaghan PEACE III Partnership, “Women On The Edge” Project: This is a cross community cross border project, the aim of which is to record the stories of women from Truagh and Aughnacloy and publish them in booklet form.  If you, or a member of your family, would like to be involved in this project contact Fiona 047.87049 or come to our launch evening on Wed. 21st May from 8pm to 9pm at the Blackwater Valley Learning Centre.  Hot food served.  This project will celebrate the stories and experiences of women living along the border in our area. 

HOMECRAFTS: with tutor Jacinta Woods.  Starts up again after the bank holiday on Monday 12th May from 10am to 12.30pm and runs for 7 more weeks.  Cost €20.  Learn to make items such as a tote bag, door weight, sweetie cushion, slippers, cover storage box, table runner, draught excluder, tissue box cover, apron etc. Please note: we need 5 more people to sign up for this course otherwise it won’t run, please contact Fiona or Mary on 87049 to book your place.

BEALTAINE FILM FESTIVAL: over 50s are invited to attend a free screening of ‘High Society’ starring Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby at Iontas Theatre in Castleblaney at 11am on Tue 13th May.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY/PHOTOSHOP COURSE WITH MASTER PHOTOGRAPHER LOU METZGER: this 4 week intensive course runs Saturdays 31st May, 7th June, 14th June & 21st June from 12pm to 4pm. Some places still available.

YOGA FOR THE OVER 55s: helping to create and maintain physical and emotional strength and spiritual development with Patricia Drum, Mondays (except bank hols) from 11.15am to 12.30pm.
