After a short stay in the home of Kate and Gerry Reilly in Tir
naskea South, Fr Matthias returns to his parish in Queenstown, Uganda on Monday 2nd July 2012. During his visit to the area, Fr Matthias participated in activities in Monaghan, Tydavnet and Roslea parishes, raising funds for the Youth Alive program of AIDS/HIV workshops in South Africa which he describes as “a province of death, disaster and despair”. He usually presides at four funerals a week!! Funds raised will support his area recovering from effects of Apartheid, oppression, unemployment, lack of water and electricity, crime, AIDS and drug abuse.
Football fundraiser in memory of the late little Eva Marina Reilly, in aid of the work of Fr Matthias Nsamba, includes a Past Masters football tournament chosen from Eire Óg, Seans, Keady, Scotstown, Truagh and Killevan on Saturday 30thJune at 3.30 pm in Kilmore grounds, Scotstown, with a draw in McCague’s pub afterwards.
