St. Dympna’s National School has a long history in Tydavnet. Tydavnet National Schoolhouse, built in 1820 at a cost of £70, was situated in the townland of Mullanarockan. It was a two-story house. The school was held in the upper part and the lower part was let to a tenant.  (Ordnance Survey Memoirs of Ireland, 1998.)

Tydavnet now boasts a new Montessori Preschool and Afterschool. Use the scroll down menu above to read more about St. Dympna’s National School and Tydavnet Acorn Montessori Preschool and Afterschool.
